Gov’t Seeks Support at UNESCO Headquarters

PARIS, NETRALNEWS.COM – The Government of the Republic of Indonesia seeks to rally support to become a member of the Executive Board of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the period 2017-2021.

The effort was made by the Indonesian delegation on the sidelines of the UNESCO General Assembly of UNESCO at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, by inviting several UNESCO member states at the reception.

The Expert Staff for Innovation and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Ananto Kusuma Seta, told Antara London on Saturday (11/4/2017), the support would be in connection with the selection of UNESCO Executive Board members in the UNESCO General Assembly next Wednesday.

According to Ananto, this reception is part of Indonesia’s international diplomacy, “It is time for Indonesia to become an important part of the world.

The lunch reception was attended by Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhadjir Effendy, as Chairman of the Indonesian Delegation at UNESCO General Assembly; Indonesian Ambassador to France/Permanent Delegation of Indonesia to UNESCO, Hotmangadja Pandjaitan, Ambassador/Alternate Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, TA Fauzi Soelaiman, Daily Chairman of the Indonesian Commission for UNESCO (KNIU), Arief Rachman, Secretary General of Ministry of Education and Culture, Didik Suhardi and Expert Staff Minister, Ananto Kusuma Seta, Head of Bureau of Planning and Foreign Cooperation Ministry of Education and Culture, Suharti and Director General of Early Childhood Education and Community Education Ministry of Education and Culture, Harris Iskandar.
